Brief Description:  Install engine cowl, drain r. fuel tank

I drained the fuel from the right tank so both tanks are now empty. Next, I installed the inlet baffle seals onto the lower cowling. The cowling has been off for about 4 months and I believe it must have shrunk or maybe I forgot how to install the darn thing. Anyhow, after some words with the cowling, it finally dropped into position. Part of the issue is the inlet baffles make it much harder to get the cowling seated. Then, I installed the upper cowling—much easier. I’m working toward getting all the parts installed so I can get a proper weight and balance performed. I also called Plane Power regarding the output on the alternator. They did not think there was any issue and that it will charge up to 14.5 volts after a start, especially if the battery is not 100% charged before starting. My three minute engine runs at low RPM just don’t sufficiently charge the battery to full capacity. So, I’ll put that worry aside and just monitor the voltage. Now I’m on a search to find some scales.
