Brief Description:  Install quick drain oil plug

I cut the safety wire and removed the right front oil drain plug, thus draining the preservative oil. I raised the tail and left it so I could get most of the oil drained. I was going to pull the lower spark plugs and empty the cylinders—but, my plug wrench is at my house! While the oil was draining, I installed cotter pins in several bolts on the engine mixture and throttle linkage. I cleaned up around the oil drain hole. Then, I coated my quick drain with some anti-seize goop that came with the plug and installed it. I’m using a Saf-Air P5000 quick drain. Then, I safety wired the plug. I have some vinyl tubing that just fits over the end of the quick drain—hopefully this should make for a relative “mess free” oil change. After I get the cylinders drained, I’ll refill the engine with Phillips M20W50 mineral oil for the break in period.
