Brief Description: Begin rear baggage floor instal
As I was preparing the aft baggage area for installation of the floor, I noticed the control tube would almost contact the hole in the F-807-1 bulkhead when full right and full aft. I thought I had checked this some years ago, but couldn’t remember. So, I used a rotary cutter on my die grinder and relieved the right side just a bit. Before installing the rear baggage floor, I ran an 8-32 tap thru the nutplates where the rear baggage shelf attaches. I is difficult to get the screws in and out in a rather confined space. Then, vacuumed up all the filings and installed the rear baggage floor with clecoes. I began pop riveting, but only had a few LP4-3 rivets on hand—ordered more yesterday. Next, I made up a little test tool to check that the ELT is receiving data from the Dynon to report position of the aircraft in the event of a mishap—this is per the ACK install manual. I’ll have to roll the plane out of the garage to get a clear look at satellites in order to test the data stream.
