Well, it’s two steps forward and one step back. Last night I had clecoed in the left and right floor panels. Today, I installed the F-837-1 aft control mount, and torqued the 4 mounting bolts to 25”/lbs, then tightened the nut on the rod end bearing. Checked for free movement—ok. Next, I installed the front seat floor and footwell assembly. What?? Left side won’t sit flush. Seems the left footwell was contacting the bracket that hold the pitot line. Dang—so I drilled out the 2 very nicely set rivets and relocated the bracket forward. That solved part of the problem, but the footwell still doesn’t fit flush. The next culprit was the 90 degree angle for the AOA line. Once removed, the footwell sits flush. So, I’ll have to drill a new hole for the AOA and use a cap-plug to close off the first hole. I’ll pound some rivets in holes where the bracket was, then rivet the bracket to its new location. Not a real fun day.
