I began work on the oil filler door today. I used a very small file to make the edges of the flange less rounded so the door would fit without so much gap. Then, I cut the door to size—used snips for a cut near the line, and then a sanding block to get sanded to final size. I taped the door in place and marked around the perimeter. I measured out 3/8” from this line and cut off the excess with my dremel. I finished up using a wood rasp and finally with sandpaper. I am waiting on various parts including a hidden door hinge and various adel clamps--should arrive later in the week.
