Brief Description: Drill spinner backing plates for nutplates
I decided to drill all the holes for nutplates before removing the prop. I removed the spinner and used a nutplate as a guide to drill the attachment holes in the front mounting plate, then put in a light counter sink with my deburr tool. I intend to use NAS1097 rivets to secure the nutplates. After the front mounting plate and the rear plate were drilled and c/s for nutplates, I drilled the mounting holes up to #19. I removed the front mounting plate and squeezed in rivets to secure the nutplates. Then, I drilled the spinner up to #19 for the front mounting plate. I installed the front plate inside the spinner with screws to check alignment and worked out perfectly. I plan to finish up the gap filler plates, then remove the prop so that I can take off the rear mounting plate to rivet nutplates and gap fillers.
