Brief Description: Install #3 baffle, trim r. air ramp
I installed the #3 baffle assembly—hope this is the last time. I had to re-orient a clamp on a line under the number 3 cylinder so that the lower part of the baffle would clear when the tension rod is installed. Next, I marked the right front air ramp to add some clearance between it and the inlet lip. As it was, it was going to be very difficult or impossible to add the cowl once the fabric is installed on the lower inlet duct. I had to remove the lower cowl to get the ramp off, then I trimmed the front edge. I also sanded the cowl back about 3/32”. I hope this is enough—also hope it’s not too much. Who knows—the plans don’t show a dimension for the gap. I re-installed the ramp and then the lower cowling. Now I have ¼” clearance between the ramp and the cowl lip. Next, I drilled and clecoed the upper air ramps to the top cowling and set it in place. Now I need to start trimming the side baffles for the “swoop” to match the upper cowl.
