I drilled some 1/16” holes in the lower hinge cowl side to create “resin” rivets when riveted to cowl. I shot a coat of primer on the f/w side lower hinges and the upper surface of the cowl side hinge. I scratched up he bottom surface with #60 grit to help in bonding to the cowl. While the primer was drying, I laid out holes for the vertical hinges. Drilled a couple of holes, then clecoed and clamped to the firewall/fuse side skin, then match drilled thru the skin into the hinge. Removed, de-burred and then machine c/s the hinge. Primer was dry so I clecoed the lower hinges to the firewall/fuse skin. Grabbed the pneumatic squeezer and set six rivets on each side. I also cut the lower cowl back just short of the blue line I had previously marked, then block sanded to the line.
