Brief Description: Riveting p4 hinges to wings-1
|
|
Today, I had hoped to get the p4 hinges riveted to the wing side of both wings—didn’t quite finish, but I will tomorrow. I began with the right wing, bottom side. I clecoed every other hole, then squeezed in a couple of rivets in the center, followed by a couple more near each end. Then, I just ran down the hinge filling empty holes, removed the clecoes and finished the rest. There is one rivet near the top and one on the bottom that will require a long reach yoke—I’ll wait till all hinges are complete before swapping out yokes. After the bottom of the right wing, I moved to the bottom of the left wing. These bottoms were easiest to access while the wings were in the cradle. After the bottom of the left wing, I did the top of the right wing, then started on the top of the left wing. I squeezed in several more than 100 total—think I have about 30 or so to finish. All the rivets turned out well.
