Brief Description: Drilled for lower wing nutplate attachments
Yesterday, I discovered I had skipped the aft most hole on the lower wing to fuse overlap. I made up a transfer strip from some .040 scrap and match drilled two holes using the bottom center skin as a template. Next, I attached this strip to the wing skin using a couple of #8 screws. I used a hole finder to drill a hole in the transfer strip, just like I did when I originally drilled the other holes. I removed the strip from the wing skin and attached with #8 screws to the bottom center skin. Then I use a Whitney punch to transfer the hole from the strip to the lower skin. Then I drilled both the wing and fuse skins out to #19. Then I began prepping the lower wing skin for nutplates. I used a #8 nutplate jig and drilled #40 the holes for attachment of the nutplates. Each lower wing skin has 11 holes, thus drilled a total of 44 holes in both L. & R. wings. Deburred all holes.
