Brief Description:  Completed L. F-83-1 tank attach bracket

I hammered the F-863-1 tank attach bracket until it fit against the side of fuselage—fit even better than the first one I had made. I checked edge distance top and bottom and clamped into position. I used a long #30 drill from inside the fuse to drill the bottom hole. I put some masking tape on the face of the top tab of the bracket and then used a draw cleco to clamp the lower hole against the fuse. Also clamped the tank tab and bracket together. Climbed back inside the fuse and used a #30 drill thru the fuse and made a mark on the tape stuck to the attach bracket. Removed the bracket and drilled the top hole out to #30 on the drill press. I re-installed the bracket and drilled a 1/8” pilot hole (using a guide block) through the two brackets. I opened this hole up to a letter “C”, then pulled a ¼” reamer thru from the back side. Temporarily installed an AN-4 bolt. Tomorrow I’ll remove the bracket and shoot some primer on it.
