I drew a line down the center of the p3 hinge and transferred the hole locations from the wing tip. Not sure how others have drilled the p3 hinge—appears that they may have drilled from the outside into the hinge underneath. I wasn’t that certain of my measurements so I drew a line down the center of the hinge and center punched each of the hole locations. Then I drilled them to #40 on the drill press. I clecoed the assembled p3/p4 hinges to the inside of the wingtip flange (which will later to be cut off and used as a spacer on the wing skin side) and match drilled thru the p3 hinge into the fiberglass tip. It was no problem to get a 90 degree angle drill inside the tip. Next, I began work on the hinge for the top of the wing. I clamped a p4 hinge to the wing skin, leaving 1/8” of the flange extending outside the skin. Match drilled thru the existing wing skin holes into the hinge. Remove and deburred. Next up is to complete the p3 part of upper hinge attachment.
