Brief Description:  Rivet baggage hinge support, wire red cube

Today I wanted to get the F-873G-1 baggage door hinge support riveted to the firewall and the forward baggage bulkhead. Like fellow builder Bill, I got tired of looking at clecos holding it in place. For anyone reading ahead, I would suggest that this step be done just before installing the motor mount—sure would have been easier to do this step back then. No way could I get the squeezer to line up on any of the 4 rivets, so out came the rivet gun. The firewall is dimpled for flush rivets, but they sit so close together that I couldn’t get the flush rivet set squarely in the center. So, I ran some duct tape across the firewall and across the bulkhead to keep them pulled in tight against the baggage door hinge support. I removed both clecos from the firewall, inserted both rivets and drove them both at the same time. This seemed to work out ok. I switched rivet sets for the dome rivets on the baggage bulkhead and shot them one at a time. I have been waiting on some shrink tubing which arrived yesterday in order to finishup wiring the red cube. Also, secured the cube wire and the CHT probe wires in the same bundle as the alternator wires.
