Very exciting day! UPS called yesterday and notified me they are large delivery on a pallet ready for delivery. So, about 11 am today a large tractor trailer rig showed up. I paid for lift gate delivery—good thing, not sure Nancy could lift her half of 350 pounds (me either!). The driver had a pallet jack and delivered the engine right to the garage door. Gotta tell ya, he was a really nice guy. After he left, I opened the box and cut away all of the sides. Lycoming packs these engines like their shipping into outer space. The engine was wrapped in plastic sheeting and then vacuum shrunk and sealed. It appears the engine is then dropped into the cardboard box and filled with some sort of spray in foam. Anyhow, I removed most of the box and a good bit of the foam—picked up the engine with my hoist and moved inside the garage. Next up--getting ready to hang the engine.
