Today I received a small adaptor from Stein. The “positioner” replaces a piece in the crimper to allow it to be used on Hi Density d-sub pins. I crimped 12 pins and added terminals for the ground shielding. Inserted three pins for the pilot mic into the GMA240 connector housing and re-assembled the housing. Then, I took apart the second connector, inserted 9 pins for pilot phones, copilot phones and copilot mic, then re-assembled the housing. Now, I can attach the harness to the radio trays and then install the trays back into the fuselage.
