Used a jig to drill holes that will secure nut plates to the panel. Deburred, then used a deburr tool to put a small counter sink for NAS rivets to secure the nut plates. I’ll hold off riveting the nut plates until I can shoot a coat of primer on the panel. I began laying out the location for my 2.25” back up instruments—airspeed, altimeter and vertical car compass. At present all I have is the airspeed, so I played with some scrap .040 and an instrument template to see how well everything will go together. After drilling mounting holes, I used an ATS hole punch to knock out the center. This was more of a test run before I cut the holes in the panel. Everything looks like it will work ok.
