I installed the fairing once again (this is getting old). The lower fairing fits pretty well, but the upper piece has some areas between the fasteners (clecos for now) that have a slight pucker. I marked the areas and removed the fairing. I clamped an edge to the work bench and used a heat gun to relax the glass. Installed again and checked fit—much better. Removed the fairing, then lightly sanded the pin hole areas. Mixed up some resin and applied to the pin holes with a credit card.
