Brief Description:  Removed rib from jig

I removed the rib from the jig tonight. It had been in the jig for 24 hours and the epoxy had thoroughly dried. When i removed the clamps a few of the blocks did not want to come off. I guess that little amount of epoxy that i got on the top side of the gussets adhered to the hold down blocks. Just a little wiggling broke the blocks free with no damage to the gussets. Before i start my next rib i'll staple some wax paper to the underside of the blocks. I had a little problem unsticking the rib from the jig too. Most of it just popped right out except for the area around the spar opening. I had to take a razor blade and score the area around the spar opening and pry the rib loose. It seems the epoxy was a little sticky and some stuck to the rough cut parts of the acrylic Next rib i think i'll apply some wax to the area before gluing just to aid in removal.

I raised up the router bit on the table and cut off the excess hangover on the gussets. A little bit of epoxy had run over the capstrip and caused the router bit to ride up it and not cut the gussets properly. I cut off the epoxy with a razor blade and ran it back through the router. It now looked good. Sorry, getting so excited about building a rib i forgot to take some pictures of the routing. Next i need to flip the rib over and glue the gussets to the other side. Maybe tomorrow.
