Brief Description:  1 Started on leading edge filler block

After finishing the leading edge ply gussets i started on the leading edge filler blocks. These are small nose shaped pieces that go between the the two leading edge ply gussets at the front of the rib. I used the form i created to draw the shape onto some 3/8"x1 1/4"x48" spuce pieces. I took about 1 1/2 pices to make 28 pieces. I then rough cut out the pices on the scrollsaw. I nailed one onto the form and routered it to the same shape. I came out looking pretty good, however i could not remove it from the form without damaging the pieces. I did two pieces with the same results. Hmm.... had to think about this. I then nailed two 1" nails through the form and they stuck out the other side about a 1/4". Then i placed the form with the nails pointing into the spruce and hammered them together. I routed them just like before. When it came time to seperate them it came apart fairly easily. I did a couple more. Same result. Seems i found a good method. Now to router them all. But as usual i'm out of time today. I'll finish the rest as soon as i can get back to it.
