Brief Description:  Redoing cap benders

Pulled the capstrips out of the benders yesterday morning. The bend cut was not deep enough and the capstrips were not bent enough. It still took alot of force to put the capstrips in the jig. Idealy i want the capstrips to only need minor force to align in the jig. I recut the top capstrip last night and glued the cutoff piece to the top of the bender. That created more of a bend near the tip of the capstrip. I resoaked the upper capstrips and put them in the bender for the night. This morning i pulled the capstrips out of the bender and it is almost a perfect fit. I then made a new bender for the lower capstrips. All i had was a 1"x6" plank of wood. It's about 3/4 thick which will be just wide enough to hold two 3/8" capstrips. I redrew the curve line to make it more sharper at about 2" from the tip. I soaked two capstrips for about 5hrs then clamped them in the bender to set up till they dry. I'll check them tomorrow when i get home from work.
