Brief Description: Wing tie-down finishing & match drilling
Finish deburring & match drilling (to spar) of custom one-piece wing tie downs. Here are the tie-downs after deburring & before primer application. 'Dog-bone' ears are ~0.125thick.... Total weight is only a few grams heavier (can't remember how much at the moment) than Van's stock 1/2 in bar extrusion, thanks to tapering upper section and machining out the center of the upper section to form a 'tapered C-channel'. AN bolts will hold these to the spar. Note these are mounted to the front of the spar... No need for a large hole in the spar flange. Since they mount to the spar strips, there are 'bosses' to stand-off from the spar web that are also integral to the part... Not the prettiest part of the component since I didn't have CNC set-up, but should do fine.
