Many years ago (back in 1996 when I received the wing kit), I decided I wanted to make some custom wing tie-down blocks... Didn't like the less-than 0.062" wall thickness for the 'stock' tie-downs (3/8 threaded hole in end of 1/2 in bar extrusion)... Probably OK per original design, especially since there are probably now at least 1000+ flying & I haven't heard of issues with these... At the time I came up with the idea, there were a LOT less flying & I didn't have the tools to do what I'm starting to do here in the 1st picture - mill the parts from a solid piece of plate stock.
