Drilled ventilation holes in panel base. My step drill is blunt, so had to enlarge the holes gradually using varios drills, which is why it took so long! It is tricky to avoid the brake lines under that part of the panel. I wedged a piece of corrugated cardboard betweent he panel and the brake lines, and made sure the drill didn't go too far down through the panel.
