Brief Description: Rivet Frame Together 2: Fwd Top Skin
The top skin goes on next. Recall this as the shims under to allow it to open without hitting the fuselage forward skin edge. I put the braces on, but you can't rivet the skin on with them in place, so the cam back off.
I bucked all the flush rivets along the forward edge first.
I put the longest shim against the skin and the shortest against the underlaying frame. This helped insure I wouldn't get and dents in the skin from the ends of the shorter shims. These went on great and I can see how nice they make it for opening. There was a slight concave from the two halves of the frame and these shims lift up the skin just a bit above the forward skin so they don't hit upon opening the canopy. More photos on that later.
