Brief Description: Fitting Side Skirts 7: . . . continued
The new side skirts (skins) arrived from Vans. These are about 1.5 inches longer. I need them longer because you may recall I cut off the tab from the forward skin right at the place where the longeron changes angles. This helps make the transition better, with less gap. You can see this issue in the July entries.
So these new side skirts are a little longer and get 20 holes instead of 19. Still the holes are about 1.5 inches apart.
I put the canopy back on the fuselage and fasten it down with clecos, bolts, and tape. Next I'll carefully locate the side skirts and drill them to the side rails.
