Also while I'm waiting for new side skirts I can drill the side rails to the aft roll bar. I can position them accurately with the existing side skins taped on. I positioned the side rails so the skirts are held flush with the side skins.
I clamped the roll bar in position. Put on the canopy to hold everything including the side skin. I drill the holes with my angle drill reaching around inside the fuselage.
First I drilled them #40, then I enlarged the outside holes to $30. The center holes get even large later for the hold down latch.
