Brief Description:  Canopy Fitting 22: Finishing the fit

Okay, I went to Arlington EAA Fly In and learned some thigs about how to finish the fit of this canopy. With regard to the forward corner, some builders cut off the skin tab, others left it on. Some (many) are experiencing cracks and paint wrinkling in this forward corner. Some added extra rivets to hold the skin tab in. Others glued it. Some did nothing. But everyone finished off the canopy with fiberglass. So this makes it less critical as to what you do with the skin tab.

It is important to get the canopy to fit where the screws will go and make the corner rounded for a nice smooth look. And be prepared to finish it off with fiberglass.
