Brief Description: Canopy Fitting 8: Initial fit on fuselage
Before putting the canopy on the fuselage I had to tape down the forward little wings that poke up. Later these will be on outside of canopy. I also removed many clecoes forward and aft. And I put tape on the roll bar to protect from scratching the canopy.
I put the canopy on the fuselage and had a look. It fits pretty well. I examined the front windshield for where to cut. You can find the radius where the windshield starts up from the forward part of the plastic. I guess you want to cut it right at the radius so the windshield comes straight down onto the fuselage.
At this point the plans say I should be able to see how the overlapping tabs on the side rails should be bent and I should bend them. I did bend them inward and they are not interfering. So no more adjustment at this time. Later I'll be re-checking and riveting these overlapping tabs.
