Brief Description:  Canopy Fitting 4: Cut off Front Edge

The cutting wasn't so bad. Makes a mess of dust and stinks a bit. I cut off the front and then sanded the edge before moving it. Plans say get rid of scratches to help prevent cracks.

Used the pnuematic cut off wheel with discs supplied by Vans to make the cut. It takes about 4 passes to cut thru. I didn't push to hard on the cutter. I just let it do all the work. The first pass makes a groove to follow after that. Took just a little practice to be able to cut straight.

I put duck tape on sections I cut to hold it in place before moving on. Plans tell you to do this.

I used a belt sander followed by a vibrator sander to smooth the edge. Doesn't take much.
