Brief Description:  Canopy Fitting 2: Test Cuts

I read a bunch of logs about cutting the canopy. I had several tools already on my shelves so I tried these.

1) The cast saw that vibrates works okay, doesn't throw dust, but cuts pretty slow but is easy to control. This is my second favorite.
2) All spinning cutters without a shield throw dust everywhere
3) The high speed electric Rotozip is tooooo aggressive at 30,000 RPM
4) The pnuematic drill is too slow at 3,000 RPM
5) The angle pnuematic spinner is nice but with no shield
6) I like the normal pnuematic cutoff wheel with the cutters Van's supplied. It cuts thru in about 3 or 4 passes. It spinns about 8,000 - 10,000 RPM and is fairly controllable. The only negative is you have to enlarge the hole in the cutting disc. But that was easy with a step drill.

I made some practice cuts in the edge by the tool marks to pracitice cutting and see how these tools work.
