After cutting out the semi-circle and deburred the latch.
WARNING: I deburred the outside part of the latch until it was smooth and this was a big mistake. There is a burr on the outside, but it is not a burr. The outside edge has to parralle surface 1/16 offset from one another. I could use mine as is, but I ordered a new one in a fit of madness for making the mistake. The off set plane fits into the skin slot flush with the outside, while the narrow portion fits on the inside.
