Another useful accident was the oval I cut in the rib acts as a stop just slightly past closed. And with just slight pressure due to the lengths of the rods being slightly long, creates a snap closure which is kinda nice. I guess the spring will also keep this closed, although, not sure if I'm going to use that yet.
I made a temporary arm to actuate the hinge mechanism for now. I'll decide later if I'll use the T-handle per drawing, or drop it straight down under the sub-panel. Decision will be based on ability to deploy canopy in flight. If it can't be done do to shock absorb things, then I won't mount this release handle on the dash. I'll put it under the sub-panel for use only on the ground.
