Brief Description: Attach HS to Fuselage 10: The fix
I cut out the plates on the band saw and finished the edges on belt sander and scotch bright wheel. Then I clamped them in place and drilled the holes. I drilled some from underneath. The three aft holes I ran the loose drill bit in the hole from underneath to mark the position but drill the holes on the bench to ensure getting them straight.
I decided NOT to put a couple rivets along the inboard edge of this plate thru the aft deck, because you'll recall there are angles underneath these rivet lines and there is only a couple spots where you could put a rivet along the inboard edge without getting to close to the edge of an angle. And there are no other rivets going thru the deck except where an angle is. I just don't think their needed and they might form a concentration point where vibrations could crack the aft deck.
