I clamped the angles to the seat backs, but they didn't seem to fit right. They were a little short. How could that happen.
I read the drawing and it says, trim bottom of seat to length. Cripe. The seat is about 1/8 too long.
I measured and marked the seat length 26 3/8. Then I used my large tin snipes and cut off the extra. I smoothed the edge on the belt sander and scotchbright wheel.
Now the angles and seat backs fit together pretty good and I can match drill. I did have to fiddle with these a bit to get the best fit of vertical angle and seat back. Finally I ensured the vertical angles were positioned correctly on the seats and I drilled all the holes to #30 per drawing and plan. It took some adjusting to get the angles flush on both ends of the seats. Seems like trimming the seats was not as accurate as I wanted. But the angles are all matched to each other so the holes worked out great.
The upper hinge is shown at only 15 1/2 in length but I made mine 16 by simply splitting the hinge tab and cutting it off on each side. Ed's idea.
