Brief Description: Cabin Frame Roll Bar 37: Cover for channel
To finish off the overhead channel I decided to make a cover for it, because the other guys whose construction logs I'm reading did. They say it will be good for running wires in. I like it because it looks more finished, and the box will give more rigidity.
So I cut a cover from some trim material. I decided to use 4 holes per side. I'll use #6 screws and set them flush. So everything had to be dimpled. That was difficult. I had to grind one side of the female die in order to use it inside the channel.
I like the looks of dimpled / flush screws. Also they are less likely to pump you and make a bruise. This is in the top of the cargo area where I can imagine reaching in, or carrying my dog in there, so having flush screws seems better than little pumps that can poke you.
