Brief Description:  Cabin Frame Roll Bar 29: Check position of frame

Now for the next big step. The frame gets drilled to the angels. Before drilling I wanted to make sure everything was positioned correctly. The only dimension I could find was the 17 7/8 distance from the top of the frame to the top of the longerons.

Careful about this measure because the drawing at first glance appears to be measuring to the top of the bulkhead. But if you look close it is to the top of the longerons.

So I put a piece of angle on top of the longerons and used my square to measure. Amazing it is right at 17 7/8.

Notice in photo 3 the frame sits on the outside aft corner on the top of the longerons. And this frame bottom was sanded by me earlier to match the exact distance of the arch. Remember earlier I showed measureing the height of the arch with two squares? So this is why the distance is correct at this poit.
