Then to drill the forward half, I placed my 1 3/8 spacer blocks inside the channel. I had to remove the clecoes holding the plate, so I just shoved some rivets down into the holes. The holes go down into the wood table so this should hold.
Then I put the forward channel pair on top and clamped it all down. I measured the thickness and it is 1.5 inches like it is suppose to be.
