Brief Description:  Mount Rudder 5: Drill wire hole

While I have the rudder on the fuselage I decided to drill a hole for wires to the light that will eventually be in the end of the rudder bottom. So I held the plastic rudder bottom in place and examined all the places for a hole.

I have an email from Vans with a drawing saying to drill a hole above the tie down bracket. Problem is then you have to route wires down past the hing.

I decided to drill a 3/8 hole in bottom of bulkhead. Wires will go through this and right into the plastic bottom of the rudder. I don't need any holes in the rudder aluminum. And this little hole will take a small plastic grommet. I also saw some similar to this on Vans Airforce.

Now this area is ready for final wires. It is just getting these details done that will get me closer to flying this airplane someday.

Plans say to fit the fuselage / tail fairing, but I don't have it now. It must be in the finish kit. So that will wait.
