Brief Description:  Elevator Trim 2: Assemble and Install

I mounted the servo between the brackets and assembled it with the elevator. I had to trim away some material along the hole where the push rod comes out. Not much and it seemed pretty centered.

I messed around on the bench moving the servo in and out. I get 1.2 inches of stroke which is right, I think. I connected it to the trim tab after cutting it to length (3 1/8 inches). I determined the length by assembling in the full out position. I'm getting about 20 degrees deflection down and 30 up. Should be more than that per the plan. Plan says 35 and 25. But I don't see how with this servo and horn. I'll do final fit during final assembly. I'll probably end up adjusting after flying.

According to chats I've read I'll probably wont more deflection down which pushes the elevator up and the nose up. This would be for landing and slow flight. So I'll have it centered for early flights and then adjust as flying dictates.

I studied various connectors. I think I will put d-sub pins on the wires without any housing. Then fish the wires thru the horizontal stabalizer hole and into the elevator. The 5/8 hole doesn't seem large enough for a connector so I can just use d-sub pins and shrink wrap. I put a plastic grommet in the HS spar hole
