I decided to paint my brake pedals with the Rustoleum Black Hammered Look paint. Then I also assembled them with the long bolts. Now the pedal assembly is drop in ready, except for install cotter pins.
I learned about the paint doing this. It makes little pin holes with only one coat and adding a second coat after 48 hours is risky for bubble up or poor adherence. I did have to recoat these pedals with paint and it worked okay, but time will tell.
In future I need to give a full coat or 2 or 3 during initial application, NOT after they dry 48 hours later.
