With the aft and mid fuselage joined but not riveted the plans move on to building up the forward fuselage. I guess someday I'll be disassembling, clean, deburring, priming, dimpling and riveting. But not yet.
First thing I did was turn my fuselage around to put the foward end into my primary workspace. I'm glad I made the fixture with wheels.
The plans say to ensure you have at least 3/4 inches of skin past the end of the longerons. I had to cut off about a 1/4 inch. Then I sanded it smooth. During the process my measuring tool slipped and 1/8 inch so I have 7/8 clearance. Plan says a little extra clearance is no problem. Let's hope so.
Then I clamped the longerons flush with the skin & finished drilling the forward holes.
