Brief Description: Mid-Aft Body Join - Drill Longerons
I had a whole half day to work on this today. Raining and IMC outside, so staying in garage with music and airplane parts has gotta be paradise.
First thing I did to drill the longerons was check the inside for possible interferences and I found these to angles would get hit by the drill bit so take them out.
Then you have to make sure the longeron fits flush with skin edge. I had a problem at the aft end where one of the bulkheads prevented it from fitting down flush. A like filing fixed that. I used duct tape to prevent scratching parts except for the one I wanted to lower.
Then I clamped the longeron its full length. I started drilling at the aft end. But I did put a few holes with clecoes up ahead to help hold skin and longeron flush.
I drilled and clecoed and progressed all the way to the wing bulkhead.
