Brief Description:  Mid Fuselage - Diss-assemble and prepare

I diss-assembled the mid fuselage one piece at a time and prepared each piece at the time I took it off. I also marked a bunch of parts so they go back into the same place.

The floors get some dimples in the #19 holes for flush screws. I put 6 flush screws on the seat rib floors.

The cargo floors are almost all dimpled for flush screws except the holes over the mid bulkhead. The #8 dimple is to large for those holes because of the edge margin on the bulkhead flange.

I bought a #8 platenut jig to speed up the drilling of rivet holes on the ribs. I discovered you need to clamp it to keep it from turning when drilling. And you gotta be careful to drill straight down. There is a little play in the holes and sometimes it was hard to get the prongs inserted.

As I took a rib off I deburred it, drilled the platenut holes, deburred some more and finally dimpled it. The bottom gets $40 dimples for the bottom skin and some of the holes on top get the #8 dimple for screws. I prepared each piece in its entirity so I wouldn't get confused later trying to remember which hole gets dimpled and which don't.
