At this point I'm ready to dismantle, debur, clean, prime and rivet this part of the mid-fuselage together. But I'm departing slightly to make the floors removable. The seat and cargo floors are fastened with #8 bolts and pop rivets. I can replace the pop rivets with platenuts and #8 bolts.
I want to rivet the plate nuts to the ribs with the ribs NOT installed.
So, to do this, I'm proceeding to the next step in the plan which positions the floor skins and outboard ribs. Then I'll match drill the floors to the ribs with #19 for the #8 bolts. At that point I'll dismantle, debur, dimple, etc.
I'll need to study the drawing and other builder's logs, and my brother's log and determine what platenuts to order (see photo).
I decided the seat skins would remain Round heads everywhere except the 6 holes right where you sit which will be dimpled for flush screws. I decided the cargo floors would be flush everywhere except the row above the bulkhead flange. Essentially if the hole is under the seats or around the edges I did not want to dimple because the #8 dimple is pretty large for the small edge margins.
