Brief Description:  Ailerons - Stop 1

I made the ailron stop. I read thru Vans Forum and I like the better idea of using nylon bushings on the aileron hinge bolt rather than the aluminum stop per drawing. I like for two reasons: 1) I like the idea of nylon hitting metal rather than metal on metal for a stop and 2) easier to install.

First I had to figure out where the aileron should stop and decided that it should stop just short of this bolt hitting the hinge bracket. In photos below you can see that without any stop the aileron stops because this aileron hinge bracket bolt hits the wing hinge. If you look close you can see a dent in the primer from this hitting.

I tried various sizes of nylon bushings in diameters 4/8, 5/8, and 6/8. The right wing was happy with a 5/8 inch diameter bushing but the left wing required a little more to ensure the bolt didn't hit so I put a 6/8 nylon spacer in there.

I put the aluminum spacer inside both. My thinking is that if the nylon cracks then I've still got the aluminum holding the hinge spacing properly.
