Brief Description: Tank Prep - Capacitance Fuel Level Connector 3
I soldered the 15 inch wire to the connector and put shrink wrap on it. I located and drilled the 3/8 connector hole in the inboard rib. I received my wire terminal crimper from Aver and crimped the #18 terminals on the capacitance wires. Then I read about also soldering them, so I did. FIrst I put solder on the wire and then after crimping I heated up the terminal and added a little more solder. It flowed nicely on the wire tip. I'm not sure this is a good idea because I've heard aviation terminals are software metal to handle the vibration environment. Soldering may make them brittle. I'll have to research this more.
