I built the wing jig or more properly called fixture today. I can't fasten it to the ceiling or floor so I made it a stiff fixture that stands alone. I mounted it on casters so I can move it around in my garage. I used 4X4's for the four posts which are 48 inchs wide and 114 inches apart in length, per drawing. I used 2X4s for the cross members that the wing spar sits on. I used little pieces of aluminum for shims to level the spar to remove any and all twist. I kept the end of the spar at least 1 inch from the fixture so skins won't hit it. I read a lot about these fixtures and believe that these are good for holding the wing but not necessary for alignment like a jig would be. I'm pretty convienced the matched hole technology will self locate the skin to frame. In fact I did not clamp down the rear spar at all. I installed plumb bobs and the strings both measure 2 11/16s from edge of rear spar indicating no twist. But I did notice the rear spar is easy to move so I will continue to check for twist as I build up the wing with skins.
