Brief Description: Start Up

Today I decided to proceed with building an RV-7A experimental airplane. This means no more Cirrus Turbo in my future, but that is okay, because the joy of building and flying up-side-down is better. Plus I still have the Piper Dakota for hauling around friends. This plane will be for the intrinsic fulfillment of building something that really flies, and for the thrill of really flying it. Also, my brother is building one and this could be a fun long term project we enjoy together. I don't have that many summers left, and as my kids say, "dad, life is not a dress rehearsal", so there is no time like the present to do something you want and no limits on what you can do, as long as someone has written a book on how to do it.. I went on-line to Vans website and discovered that they recommend buying and reading the manual first. So I am. I anticipate buying tools, practice kit, tool box and empennage kit after the first of the year.
