I tried several tools for cutting plexi glass. The cast vibrator saw oscilates at 20,000 cycles per second. Really? You can touch it when it is running because it won't cut soft stuff like skin. It cuts the plexi glass but pretty slowly.
The Rotozip turns 30,000 RPM. Way too much power. The pnuematic drill turns 3,000 RPM, not enough power. Cut off tools without a guard throw up to much dust.
The winner is the cut off tool with the disc that Van's supplies. It has a guard. It turns about 8000 - 10.000 RPM and is controllable. Figures.
