Did a few things to get ready for first flight: 1. Put lower pins in the lower cowl 2. Put on the RV-7A decal 3. Checked tire pressure 4. Cleaned canopy 5. Secured cotter pins in main gear 6. Put on two top plates over avionics using silicon sealant. 7. Put on spinner. Gap aft of spinner is pretty tight. Maybe 1/8 to 3/16. Slight room for engine to drop.
I can't think of anything else. It is ready to fly.
OH, Lycoming says, don't do full power run up. That's only for field overhauled engines. They wrote me an email and said, "do a couple idles. Keep it cool. Check leaks and fuel flow. Fly it hard for an hour. Don't worry about changing oil until 25 hours."
